of giving up, at least so far as defending our representatives.

What bothers me most is that my rational mind can think of no credible reason why it IS this way. That is what leads to conspiratorial theories about senators being blackmailed, shadowy organizations, etc...

Or maybe it's just what another poster here at DU once wrote: These are human beings and they stand on the same earth we do, and the earth is moving all the time now. Fear. Uncertainty. Indecisiveness on what is right.

I truly don't know anymore. My current state of mind: Exasperated.
