Vick said at first that his family was running amok (I'm paraphrasing again) while he was out of town - that he had no idea that dog fights were going on when he was away...

I guess that didn't work when the feds pointed out that having 66 dogs on his property sort of ---- well was obvious... duh. That his family really couldn't hide all of the dogs that were anchored to truck axels in the yard and the fighting pit was a permenent fixture that he really couldn't miss....

BUT the real clincher is that the feds put some pressure on Vick's friends and they turned on him - Telling the tales of torture and abuse.

Here in San Diego, Ladainian Tomlinson admited that he has been to dogfights but that it too was a cultural, country-boy thang...
