57. You keep speaking of gay marriage "states"
Gay marriage is only legal in one state, MA, where it was legalized in 2004. And over the past three years the bigots have fought tooth and nail to have it banned so it's constantly in peril. In four states there are civil unions, and in five more there are domestic partnerships, some of which provide the same benefits as legal marriages and some of which don't.

In 27 gay marriages are officially banned by Constitutional amendment and in 17 more it's prohibited by statute.

That doesn't leave a lot of hope for your grand plan.
