Hoping that all is well at chez smokey and with the kids! :hi: :hug:

Dipped is a stray who has been hanging around off and on for over a month. Approx. 2 and 1/2 weeks ago I decided that it was waaaay too skinny and it was time to start feeding him/her on a regular basis as opposed to hit and miss.

Anyway, during the past couple of weeks it would do this strange meow/growl when I or anyone else went out to feed it. The meows slowly lost the growl, but it's still skiddish as hell. I put my hand through one of the gates (that it's so skinny it can get through) tonight, and it sniffed my hand and when I went out to feed it, Dipped wanted to be petted. It was a strange mix of enjoying it and thinking that it wanted to bite (stern voice from me, "don't bite" and pulling my hand back.)

I somehow figured out that Dipped used to have a family when the mr. and I were out in the pool a few nights ago, and Dipped was peering through the gate, as if it wanted friends. My vet has always told me that I'm a magnet for strays. Guilty as charged, but he doesn't charge me full price when I take'em in. :bounce:

Dipped is black, looks a lot like Socks, the Clinton's cat, except that he/she has a bobbed, tail, white on the nose and four white feet. The mr. stated that he/she looked as if it had been dipped in bleach, hence the name.
