You'll get used to people pretending you meant something you didn't mean, and that there are only two choices so you obviously prefer whatever other one they've pulled out of their ass.

I happen to agree with you. I don't even find Jon Stewart especially funny, and find Colbert so utterly unfunny it's painful. But then I'm Canadian, and we're used to rather excellent political comedy. I'm not too thrilled about people getting their news 'n views from someone whose goal is to mock everyone, frankly. Fine if you look to it for humour, but not if it is pretty much the sum total of your information gathering.

I'd say to check out Rick Mercer:

for some of the good stuff -- but sadly, most of the humour is probably too local.
