...when those games were set in Europe and the US respectively. Context is everything: In the Resident Evil universe, the t-virus is not racially selective (now that WOULD be racist). It infects regardless of skin color or continent. That this game, fifth in the linear series, took place in Africa is meaningless except to further the narrative of it being a global nightmare touching all. Making Africans magically immune to zombification to avoid bruising the ignorant sensibilities of hyper-sensitive non-gamers is just dumb. That the main character, who has been in the series since the beginning, is white is also meaningless. There's only one skin color among zombies: Rotted flesh. There's only one skin color among non-zombies: Blood, preferably uninfected.

Recently, some folks of color lost their shit over a Hallmark card that had been out to market for several years now, but this group only just started pissing all over itself with rage. It was some sort of audio space-themed card, you know: Planets, stars ... and black holes. No joke, what was clearly audible as "black holes" they heard as "black whores" and got Hallmark to pull the cards. Because, you know, Hallmark greeting cards are all about the "black whores" and racist stuff like that. :eyes:
