Us old Quakers try to be the same wherever we are. I think message boards and forums give us an anonimity that allows us to act out without fear of immediate consequenses or retaliation. People are more abstract and less immediate than if they were sitting across a table or knew who we were.

I don't think there is as much concern about what others on the board think of us as there would be if we were talking to them in person.

It is easy to be tempted to lash out at someone you have never seen and never will see, expecially when you are discussing hot button issues, which is why I try hard not to. I would rather they remembered what I said than how I said it. I post here to learn and hopefully to pass stuff that I have learned along to others in the process. If not, I still enjoy posting and reading however the other posters write.
