All they seem to do in Iraq is work as bodyguards for companies and Iraqi officials who need to travel. I'm sure they occasionally kill people by overzealously guarding convoys, but it's not like they're an "army." They are a bunch of dicks, but what rent-a-cops aren't?
Check out the Blackwater helicopter crash on liveleak.com. Looks like bird was totally flattened; I guess it's possible those guys were executed afterward, but the (extremely blurry) shots of the two dead guys don't show any obvious wounds.
