Sharpton was not alone in his defense of Tawana Brawley. If you remember correctly it was not Sharpton that made the accusations but Brawley herself and Sharpton along with many leaders in the black community came to her defense as she was being put through the wringer. I still feel there was something to the claims but she had endured enough.
