Casual Friday? Fort Lauderdale employee accused of getting naked

Things got a little crazy in the city's public works department earlier this year. The city's safety coordinator allegedly stripped down to his socks and walked into a co-worker's office. Right before that he had brandished a sign that said "It's Friday'' on one side, and "Let's get naked'' on the other, the co-worker complained.

She wasn't receptive to the idea of seeing her colleague in the buff.

End result: David Daley was put on administrative leave and then resigned Feb. 2, because of the January incident. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment at his Miramar home. (If this all sounds familiar, maybe you read Elgin Jones' report about this last week at South Florida Times.)

Police documented the case. The incident was considered a "lewd/lascivious'' act, which would be a misdemeanor, city police records say. Employee Daniela Metz signed a waiver of prosecution, writing that she was "not looking to get anybody in any more trouble.'' Reached at work Monday, she declined comment.

I hope this doesn't catch on. I REALLY don't want to see that much of my coworkers!
