15. Nowhere Near 600 mph for Short Hops

when you account for the time it takes to

get from downtown (or wherever) to the airport
get checked-in,
get through security,
get on board,
wait to take off,
fly for a few minutes,
wait to land,
wait to get to the gate,
get off the plane,
get your bags
get to downtown (or wherever).

They use trains for most short hops in Europe for this reason.
