when he was tapped--I see a very big difference there, despite the size of the representation. Who's to say Thompson WOULD have been elected again? Maybe he would have been found to be unfit, at that time. I find this scary. Thompson is essentially, right now, a nobody--he's you and me. Same with Romney, Rudy, Huckabee. That's why, if this scenario ever occurred, I would HOPE that Congress would take its confirmation process very seriously, with the thought that this person COULD be Prez. Thompson wants to bomb Iran, and he could get into that position without ANY election by any body of constituents.
