The Boston PD was notified it by a panicked Bostonian 2 weeks into the campaign (the LED's had probably stopped blinking by then), and there was one of those breathless "breaking news" crises, with highways and, briefly, a train line closed down.

Countdown on MSNBC covered the story, with Kieth Olbermann being less than accepting of the official party line from the Terrorism Emergency Party that we should blame the people who put these things up and not the morons who used an LED light show board to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt.
