6. "Kick"ing a thread is when someone adds a post to it
which then moves the thread to the top of the forum they're in.
When a thread doesn't have new posts it sinks to the bottom and out of sight.
People keep a thread prominently visible by adding a post.
Often they/we don't even post a new message; they just acknowledge that they're keeping the thread visible by saying "kick."
