Does anyone know what ACTUALLY happened in the McKinney incident?

Like so often, people at DU and EVERYWHERE seem to be making judgments and throwing around theories about this McKinney incident without possessing the information most needed to accurately do so. People are talking about "racial profiling," of all things, and like mentioned on the Daily Show, the whole story is being passed off as Congresswoman McKinney being a "black female congresswoman." Huh? What the hell kind of explanation is that of what HAPPENED?

The main question in my mind here, while not being entirely dispositive of the case, is: What did the police officer do, physically and verbally, to Congresswoman McKinney, to provoke this, if anything?

Short of a hard punch, kick or shove from the police officer against McKinney, it seems to me that any serious punch, kick or shove from McKinney against the officer is entirely inappropriate, as it would be against anyone else. Due to this being a police officer, McKinney's respect for the person she punched/jabbed with her cell phone (I don't know what happened!!) should have been even higher than that usual standard.

McKinney ought to just get this resolved with the officer, personally, through whatever means, unless that officer really hit her hard. If he didn't viciously attack her, this level of media attention is not needed.

And it doesn't sound like the officer attacked her. I can't exactly SAY what happened, since no one is TALKING ABOUT what happened, but McKinney hasn't said that that's what the officer did.

Instead, she's said that she's a "black female congresswoman." That's a great way to fuel this fire without shedding any actual light on what happened.
