There is an article out in the NC times here in San Diego about a woman who was slandered by her boss and fired for having an Air America bumper sticker on her car. Why did I dare to even think that the freeps would not think this is OK, or against basic freedom of speech and expression? Yes, those freepers. The ones who like to call themselves "strict constitutionalists." They don't even see irony of how this could be turned and used on them for their "rush is right" bumper stickers.

Well, at least we know who comprises the 39% that still approve Bush in the polls now.

Now:

Just let the love and tolerance wash all over you. I actually cherry picked the really nice ones for everyone to see the black hearts of the conservatives absolutely bared. It didn't take too long to even do THAT actually. Anonymity on the web does that you know...

after seeing the sticker, the employer commented that the woman could be a member of al-Qaida.

"...COULD be"...?!? :)

California is an 'at will' state I believe. This guy could fire her because he doesn't like her hairstyle and be perfectly within his rights.

They call themselves progressives because it has less syllables than flaming communist.

I'd fire the boss for not canning her a lot earlier.

They also call it 'Air America' instead of 'Air Anti-America'.

AirHeads America has a show called "Morning Sedition" Mike Malloy winks at his audience when he says he is not "really" asking his audience to rise up and overthrow the government by using force.

If the woman is fired for having irresponsible points of view, and expressing them to clients in the private sector, she should pay lawyer fees.

If she worked for the government, leg irons for a seditionist?

Am I wrong here guys and gals?

Another case where it's all she-said, she said, and we'll never know the full truth.

Such a sticker wouldn't cause me to fire someone

It would cause me to find another reason to fire her.

Unfair? I don't care. I wouldn't want someone like that working for me.

I wonder what NPR would do if a new employee showed up to work carrying Rush Limbaugh's book, "The Way Things Ought To Be."

How could CA be an "at will" state when the article claims their labor code prohibits directing political activity. Which is the rule and which is the expeption?

There is NO law against political discrimination. No one should employ a liberal Democrat. That fact alone indicates a character flaw and lack of judgement.

He may or may not be wrong, but it should be within his rights to hire or fire someone because he doesn't like their politics. Idiot liberals are not yet a protected class of citizen (unless elected to Congress).
