Matthews has been featuring a RW talk radio host on his show the past couple weeks named Mike Smerconish. He happens to be in Philadelphia, a crucial area for Republicans to do well when running a statewide campaign.

I submit that Chris Matthews is doing this specifically to elevate Smerconish's profile and voice in Pennsylvania by making him a more national figure with the knowledge that IN EXCHANGE Smerconish will promote Jim Matthews' candidacy for Lt. Governor in the November election.
