if, as the Dems and this independent are saying, "this will be a lifetime appointment and a lifetime is too long to be wrong." That this will tip the court in the wrong direction for years to come, is justification enough to do WHATEVER it takes to keep Alito of the court. Hope just ONE of the Dems gets a "spine" and filibusters, thus putting all of his/her colleagues on the record "for real" on this nomination. By not filibustering, one can vote "no" in the knowledge he's gonna get confirmed anyway---save face, while at the same time secretly hoping he gets confirmed.

We won't find out what any really thinks unless it is filibustered!
