selfish reasons, you would less likely see self-aggrandizement than you see in Congress today.

Of course, it's getting to the point in our Republic where people enter Congress for corporate greed or personal gain or both more than for any other reason. When too many enter government for this reason, the Republic dies from rot, or it's overthrown by the people and replaced with a new government in its place.

It's a natural process like the life cycle of animals. They are born; they grow; they mature; they age and decay; and they die.
