On August 19, 2004, Rep. Sweeney’s son John J. Sweeney and a friend, John J.
Manupella, became involved in a fight involving 15 to 20 people.80 During the fight, the
pair brutally beat another teenager, Matthew Brady. Mr. Sweeney knocked Mr. Brady to
the ground and kicked him in the head while Mr. Manupella kicked his ribs.81 Mr.
