... so there's less opportunity for repetition, along with the fact that there *is* no left-of-center equivalent of Fox News to seed the echo chamber.

The problem goes so far beyond Democratic "unison." In fact, personally, I'd prefer that the Democratic Party remain independent -- as opposed to the authoritarian approach of the modern Republican Party. I was just having this conversation with a friend over the weekend, when he was using words like "fragmented" and "needed to be cohesive" to describe the Dems. I believe these terms represent Right Wing framing, and put forth the notion that political parties should be authoritarian. I say B-S.

Democracy is alive today within the Democratic Party, and I fear the day the it becomes the top-down machine the pundits are pushing it towards.
