Yes, it was, but it was also accelerated by those in his own party who told him, under no uncertain terms, he was to resign or he'd be impeached. The only person currently in the Republican Party with that kind of courage is John McCain; unfortunately for all of us, he's too busy guzzling the Bush Kool-aid to do the right thing.

Congressional investigations nowadays are nothing more than a waste of everyone's time. He also has the benefit of being a complete Washington outsider, not having any desire to run for political office, and a passionate dedication to finding the truth.

At this moment, he's the best (and the only,) hope we have of getting to the bottom of it. I want him to do whatever he has to do to get it right the first time, because he only gets one chance at these folks. Two years and "only" five indictments? These are the first indictments of White House staff in 130 years. The last guy spent eight years and $70 million of our money to produce a stained blue dress.

I'll take those indictments and patiently wait for more.
