Katrina and 9-11 (WARNING: graphic photos)

Say, "Bush" and Katrina is another word for 911.

The official death toll is 1,300 in five states, according to CNN.

Of them, 1,080 died in New Orleans -- most died in the poorer parts of the city.

Thousands still missing after Katrina

Then there are the missing children of Katrina. Several hundred to a thousand missing kids in America -- all from one disaster and the media says nothing?

Accounting for Katrina's Missing Children

All Things Considered, December 24, 2005 · Nearly 5,000 children were considered missing after Hurricane Katrina. More than 4,500 have been reunited with their families. Most of the rest may not have survived the storm, says Ernie Allen, president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Gee. 500 kids died a horrible death in the hurricane.

Children.

That’s about as many kids as died in that horrible terror in Russia.

It’s not their fault they couldn’t get out of harm’s way.

There was no one to save them. No relative. No friend. No neighbor. Nobody.

The pukes will say, "Look on the bright side. We rescued thousands."

Sure. "We."

Right. "Rescued."

Some of the luckier kids.

I just saw a friend for the first time since she returned from New Orleans in October.

She's sort of a part of a paramedic rescue team.

There, she said the destruction was much worse than any media have depicted in the rest of the country. Utter devastation on an unimaginable scale.

I asked her about the casualties.

She said the local police said the official estimates are way low. “Way low.”

She wouldn't say a number, but did say the guesstimate from the people in authority she met were 5,000 to maybe 10,000 human beings in New Orleans died in the natural disaster and man-made disaster afterward.

That’s as many three times as the number who perished in 9-11.

That happened on Bush’s watch, too.

And where was Bush?

Lookin' good, Junior.

With apologies to Katrina, everywhere. The women named Katrina with whom I am aquainted are all most kind and beautiful.
