Reply #132: Fly the flag, it's about people not politcis

The US flag does not represent our government but the citizens of our country. I don't have much confidence in our government. I didn't used to fly the flag but do now because I have limits as to how synical I will allow myself to become. In a country so diverse we are going to have many disagreements between us politically and otherwise. A lot of people in the US didn't support the invasion of Iraq, me one of them. But when we assume adult responsibility part of it is understanding and accepting that others have the right to opposing beliefs. It can be a bitter pill to swallow. Since the flag represents us all the jesture applies to all. Personally I'd find a less synical way to express my dislike for the government's policy and people supported the invasion of Iraq.
