It used to be that the pink haired preachers on television asking for money were ridiculed by most, and were considered to be crooks that took advantage of the least educated in our society or the most vulnerable such as the elderly. Now - they seem to be running the country! How did that happen?

How is it that now, anything goes as far as behavior, even the most in your face corruption and hatred, but as long as you SAY you are a Christian, then no matter what you do, no matter how hateful you are, it is okay.

And how did the right-wing hate mongers get to be the darlings of some people claiming to be Christian?

Actually applying Christian concepts - a.k.a. Jesus's teachings, is very very difficult. It isn't easy. It's not done by simply putting a pin on your lapel or by associating with a particular group of people just to say that you belong.
