since the NPS website has the correct scientific age and the letter writer says NPS can't give the correct scientific age (yet offers no evidence of this), then obviously the letter writer is lying. They're just complaining about a book they don't like.

Did you read the NPS website. bottom of first paragraph.

"Geologic formations such as gneiss and schist found at the bottom of the Canyon date back 1,800 million years."

the PEER letter writer is incorrect about what the NPS is permitted to say.
