46. I only drive to work
Edited on Sat May-27-06 11:24 AM by TheFarseer
and to do girlfriend related things. If I don't get there on the way home from work, I won't go. If it's within a mile of my apt, I walk there. My Accord is surprisingly bad on gas (21-22 mpg) so I'm very conscience of where I drive, my speed, trying to coast up to stop lights or "beat" them. Wish I could afford a new car, something better on gas. I'm starting a new job on Tuesday (about 10 minutes from home), and it might be on a good bus route, although they automatically take $10 out of your check for parking so that would be annoying to pay that and not use the spot and besides, only 10 minute drive.

oh and my observations on other people - I've seen more and more SUVs on the road this year. Everybody and their dog is still driving all over the city to get to Taco Bell at lunch. I haven't driven anywhere for lunch in a couple years! I couldn't tell you if people are still all over the interstate on weekends cause I'm never there, but I can't imagine traffic has slowed down. Gas has got to be much more expensive to alter the driving habits of most people, I'd say like over $5.
