but a lot of people cannot deal with fearful realizations very directly. Denying is so much easier. It's so much easier to focus on your own small world and abdicate any responsibility. Let those of us who are willing to talk about it, do something to fix it...is their thinking.

We as a society, are suffering from a terminal case of expediency. When you have jobs to hold down, maybe kids and elders to support, and spend so much time weeding through the red tape of a society that is drowning in it...not to mention trying to steal a little escape once in awhile, AND THEN you're being asked to 'do your part to save Democracy'...on top of all that --well, it's not admirable but it's no wonder people get to the burn-out point. And that's exactly what the opposition is hoping.
