29. Sorry to go on a rant, kpete--but what strikes me about this filing is the
evidence of collusion, coziness, and tete a tete corruption, between a NEW YORK TIMES JOURNALIST and a GOVERNMENT OPERATIVE WHO WAS OUTING A WHOLE RAFT OF CIA COUNTER-PROLIFERATION AGENTS (not just Plame, although one would be enough). Why wasn't she shouting "treason" from the rooftops?

Pull back. Look at this in context. What the hell is she DOING writing a CIA agent's name in her notebook? What is she DOING playing these 'Mata Hari' games with Libby?

Well, we KNOW what she was doing. She was pushing the war, relentlessly, in collusion with the Pentagon and the White House. And, by summer 2003, she was one very disappointed "journalist" that all the LIES she had told about WMDS hadn't been made to come true!

What we're looking at here is the tangled up COLLUSION of the Bushite fascists with the Bush-ass-kissing corporate news monopolies. They were using her, to push their war propaganda and create their cover stories, and she was using them to establish herself as "Ms. WMD," and both were out to hatefully punish and destroy anybody who got in the way.

That's what I'm seeing. It doesn't much matter to me who planted what in whose notes. What I'm seeing is that this was supposed to be a REPORTER, and her object clearly was NOT to expose government wrong-doing, but to facilitate it.

I suppose, in a snake-fight between Judith Miller and Scooter Libby, I'd root for Miller--because I suspect that she has less insider protection. Although she has done their bidding all along, she is now, possibly, a danger to them. We just don't know, though, what kind of snakepit this is, and who, among these roiling bodies, is the most venomous and the most to blame.

This is our "free press." A slimey tangle of snakes and Bushites.

Front page of the New York Times, for months and months and months, poisoning the country with their lies. And then running around with a Bushite-targeted CIA agent's name in her hot little hand, hoping to assist them in ruining some lives and crushing dissent.

And they're NOT DONE. That's the other part of the context. They're not done yet! Rumsfeld and Negroponte are STILL ruining lives and crushing dissent.

So I don't trust that EITHER SIDE of this documents fight is telling the truth. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out that Libby was telling the (limited) truth, that he got the word on Plame from Miller--and that the whole truth is that she got it from Donald Rumsfeld, who set Libby up. As an example of what I mean by "snakepit." The Bush junta is a Byzantine jungle of lies, blackmail, black ops, rampant spying and set ups--which we can thank our war profiteering corporate news monopolies for keeping in power. And if some of their well-paid lapdog "journalists" get stung for their collusion, I don't care. This is why we don't know who we can trust; we don't know who did what; we don't know what to believe in their "newsstream"; we don't know who is covering up for whom, or what-all is being covered up--because of the outright collusion of corporate media operatives like Miller, and other forms of more covert collusion yet to be exposed.

This filing by Miller's attorneys just ticked me off, that's all. It's so disgusting that a supposed journalist was even in this position--with information on the treasonous acts of our government, and their lies and coverups, that she would never even have thought to expose, because she was in on it.

I hope Patrick Fitzgerald wins whatever point he needs to make, to keep them all on the hot seat. I hope he roasts them good and proper. But Miller as truth-teller, in a contest with Libby? I think they're BOTH covering up far worse lies, and far worse crimes--and I don't believe a word that either of them says about ANYTHING.
