and it really turned me off to any of the weight loss clinics, though it isn't really fair for me to paint them all with the same brush.

I finally got the courage up to go to the clinic and was feeling pretty emotional about it. The sales girl really took advantage of how I was feeling and "went in for the kill," making comments about how my husband must feel about me looking that way, etc. Ordinarily, it would have pissed me off (and it did, of course, later) but she got me at a really low point. It set the wrong tone for the entire experience -- yes, I lost weight as I have on just about any diet I've tried -- but I wasn't doing it for the right reasons.

Anyway, I think it's great that you've already started regular exercise. Someone suggested a daily or weekly exercise thread on which we would check in and share our progress. How does that sound to you?
