Asimov's Robot (and not the hacked up "I, Robot" type of thing.) and Foundation Novels
Enemy Papers by Barry Longyear...actually one of these stories was the bases of the movie "Enemy Mine" but I'd like to see this redone more true to the novel and as trilogy like the novels.
Mote in God's eye might be interesting.
