I'm not convinced that the two were having an affair. Most alcoholics at that age can't get it up anymore. (excuse my crudeness). However, even if they weren't having an affair, she lost in the battle for Bush's favor on the Israel-Lebanon bombing. The word was that Cheney outmaneuvered her and got Bush to do his bidding. She's being marginalized, just as Powell over at State was. I think the loss of favor and power could make her want to talk about where the bodies are buried.
