I have no dog in the fight and don't like the dogs that are fighting but at some point you have to say something similar to this. Now I know that is a very bad thing to say here on DU but as far as I see it there is one overall issue that makes this country what it is (or is supposed to be) and that is the issue of civil rights (justice and equality). Yes, everything else is important but if we are not what we say we are none of it will matter.

I have made the long journey from life long Democrat to new unaffiliated (socialist?) with a new understanding of what Ralph Nader said, we may very well have to sink deeper for people to really open their eyes to what is and has happened. We do not need a messiah or a rock star and we do not need a strong, willing to war candidate. We need a strong reformer who says to hell with this silliness and re-institutes the constitution and enforces it, ALL of it, rather than letting the lynch mob of majority rule over all. What the fuck ever happened to courage and integrity and when did those things become a liability?
