17. Sorry ... but sometimes the allegations are false!
I personally know some, who I believe are, genuine victims and, embarrassed to admit, others that turned out to be false allegations (including one that went as far as an internal before it was established that the allegation was false).

It's terrible to admit, but from my experience I've found out that some people are malicious enough and are capable of pressuring their own children to lie about this sensitive issue.

That is why the evidence and investigations are necessary.
