> When Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Arlen Specter (R-PA) introduced the Fair Elections Now Act on the floor of the Senate on March 21, 2007, we all made history. There is broader support than ever before to bring full public financing to Congressional elections. Now, during the week of November 12th we, and our partner organizations, would like to invite you to be part of the national effort to spread the word about Fair Elections even farther.
Fair Elections Action Week <http://www.fairelectionsnow.org/> starts Monday. You are invited join fellow supporters of Fair and Clean Elections at events happening in your state!
People from all across the country are getting together for panel discussions, letter-writing sessions and film screenings, all to raise awareness about the bill in the Senate that will cut the ties between special interest money and our elections. Here's what’s happening in California:

San Francisco, CA
Panel Discussion at University of San Francisco with Arizona Clean Elections official Rep. Ed Ableser.
Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. University of San Francisco
Sponsored by Democracy Matters, Campus Progress, and USF Politics Society Valley Glen, CA
Iraq War and Clean Elections Rally at LA Valley Community College
Friday, November 16 at the LA Valley Quad, all day event All through the week we'll be bringing you stories and updates from states and cities where activists, organizations, and elected officials are doing their part to make our elections about voters and not big campaign donors. You can follow all the action at our special Fair Elections Action Week website. <http://www.fairelectionsnow.org/> Read updates on the blog, check for news coverage, and sign up for more information on what you can do during this National Week of Action. This is our week to put the Fair Elections Now Act -- and the concerns of ordinary voters -- center stage. I hope you'll join us. Thank you,
Jeannette Galanis
