Ohio Recount: Ohio Recount has ended, Kerry finishes 300 votes closer to Bush


The Ohio Recount officially finished today without any major changes. The final recount tally gave George W. Bush 118,457 votes more than John Kerry, or a margin of approximately 318 votes less than the total certified by Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell on December 6th. The 88 county statewide recount finished when Toledo's Lucas County completed its recount earlier today.

While most observers believe the completion of the recount concludes the last important chapter of the 2004 Presidential election, there remain a few lawsuits from voters around the state who allege fraud or who allege that the Secretary of State's office inadvertently or intentionally withheld adequate amounts of voting machines in certain counties among other irregularities.
