Insideous Pro-war Campaign Comes to Ottawa Schools

Is there any doubt but that the real motivation for the backers of this campaign is to enforce among Canadians the same kind of repressive pro-war groupthink as Americans have suffered under these past few years?

Ottawa schoolchildren may be showing their support for troops overseas by donning red on Fridays if a motion put before the public school board on Tuesday is approved.

Trustee Riley Brockington has drafted a motion that proposes the voluntary participation of all students and staff in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in a campaign to wear red on Fridays in support of Canadian troops.

"I represent a school zone that has a very strong, deep veteran community and a multi-decade presence of men and women who have served their nation and this is the least that we can do," Brockington said.

RIBBON CAMPAIGN

The Red Friday campaign was launched by the wives of soldiers posted in Afghanistan and is making an appearance in the hallways of Ottawa City Hall and in the form of red ribbons pinned to police officers' uniforms across the city.
