Target Corporate as a place to work

Hi my wife has twice been approached by reps of Target in recent months about jobs at their corporate HQ in Minnesota. While it would be a big move for us, it looks like they have some pretty good positions for her there judging from their website.

What do you Minnesotans know about working there? What other good sized companies are in the area? I know St. Paul insurance is one, as they just "acquired" Travelers.

And, for me to accurately compare housing costs, what suburban areas around Minneapolis/St Paul are good for young families, good public schools, safe neighborhoods, reasonable commute time, etc. (While most think of Connecticut as a wildly expensive place to live, the areas around Hartford are often quite a bit cheaper than the "Gold Coast" that is close to New York City)
