3. ABSOLUTELY NOT

Why oh why do our so-called "friends" do this kind of sh!t? First, they say Al Franken should run. Now, they say Daschle should run. Sorry, but we have PLENTY of qualified candidates right here, without having to import them from elsewhere.

Daschle is from South Dakota, and the MN Repubs would have a field day trashing his ass if he ran in this state. Plus, he's a weak candidate and does NOT represent the values of the DFL as well as our other candidates do. I'm sorry, but Daschle does NOT represent Minnesota-- especially the multi-cultural, multi-racial Minnesota of today.

He's also pretty ripe with the stench of defeat from 2004, too. After Kerry and Edwards, he represents what was wrong with the Democrats' message in 2004: ill-defined, too afraid to take bold stands on the issues and offer a REAL alternative to BushCo's agenda, and the ultimate Washington Insider.

We have a number of very good, very qualified candidates to run against Kennedy for Dayton's seat. Kennedy is EXTREMELY weak, despite what Cheney and the MN GOP think. He's not a popular incumbent, and doesn't have much appeal outside the 6th (or the old 2nd, where he served one term).

We don't need to import failed politicians from other states to represent Minnesota. If we wanted that, we'd just pick Luther or Mondale and be done with it.
