In fact, the nights have been cool for a couple of weeks, and the mustard plants have been yellow for a couple of weeks too. The bean plants are now more yellow than green, and the sumac is starting to turn red in rural Washtenaw County. I've also seen a couple of trees partially turned in Detroit's Old Redford area, and few of the trees along I-275 are just starting to show some color.

It's that time of year again folks, time to pack for our fall color tour in the Upper Peninsula. This year's trip will be the first week of October and will include four nights in cabins in the Porcupine Mountains, visits to the Trap Hills/Norwich Bluff areas, the Sylvania Wilderness area, and as many waterfalls as we can cram into our schedule.

I just pray I can pick up the Tiger playoff games on the portable radio, while in the Porkies. Not a chance of getting a signal there, but who knew last winter when the cabins were reserved that the Tigers would be leading the division in September?

Beers in Hurley, WI are a given! ;-)

This is far too early for the leaves to be turning in Wayne County. Peak color in the Porkies is 2-3 weeks prior to the peak in Wayne Co., so I need the color change to hold off just a bit please.
