2. To be fair,
or maybe I'm just playing devil's advocate here, Scott Brown has to consider whether participating in this will affect his re-election. If he loses re-election because of trying to do something good, then he will be unable to do ANY good, you know what I mean?
Don't get me wrong, I totally support the Trevor Project, I support equal rights for all Americans, and I wouldn't vote for Mr. Brown anyway, as I disagree with his politics. That being said, I don't think he's a bad guy, and I think he's pretty progressive about social issues, but the people who will vote for him will look very carefully at things like this (which really makes no sense - we live in Massachusetts for crying out loud) and could easily coast him his job.
So although I would applaud him for taking a stand on such an important issue as anti-bullying, I guess I could forgive him for not participating, as long as he shows his support in the way he votes, since that's what really matters.
