52. "Likeability" issue is crap
Bush is found to be likeable because he can act like a regular guy when, according to those who have actually been around him when the cameras are off, he comes across as an incurious prick. Kerry is said to be unlikeable when, according to a couple of people I know who have seen him in small group settings, he comes across as engaged, funny and downright affable.
It says a lot for our country that people base their vote for president on who they perceive to be likeable, based on no first-hand knowledge.
