Stupid.

What do I mean.

Well, most Americans are so overcome by the world, by technology, by their lack of personal success that they feel marginalized and incapable of handling modern life.

Hence, these people can identify with Bush more than Kerry because he makes them feel comfortable to be "stupid" like him. If one feels like a bumbling idiot, one would probably vote for the bumbling idiot.

That would be at least one thing a potential voter could savor and relish - at least the President is not smarter than me.

Note, I am not suggesting that most Bush supporters are stupid. I am only suggesting that their sub-conscious fears of inadequacy are being pandered to and assuaged.
