The original quote, from *, ended "so we don't have to fight them over here". Do that search and you'll be shown about 13,500 results. I would venture a guess (and it's only a guess but by sampling the first 34-40 I'd say I was in the ballpark) that 90% or better treated that statement with total and complete derision. Most of the posts I read from the search results were from '05, '06, and '07. The general consensus at that time was that GWB was out of his fucking mind, and was leading us down a bad road.

So now here we are, in 2009. We're still "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here". At least I believe that's what the reasoning is, though it's not spoken in those words. The worst part is that we're not winning, and in fact, no one can or will state positively what the Obama administration sees as an outright WIN.

But it's okay now, to "fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here". Barack Obama is The President of the United States. He knows what's best.

I'm afraid I disagree. That doesn't make me anti-Obama. I am not ANTI-OBAMA, I'm just anti his policy in Afghanistan. I'd prefer we brought our troops home post haste.

Bring them home. Please bring them home. Haven't enough parents cried over the loss of a child, knowing that their death was terrible and violent? Haven't enough families been robbed of their precious treasure? Haven't enough children been told that Mommy or Daddy isn't coming home ever again?

Mr. President, bring them home. Please. It's the right thing to do.
