Taking a break from the issues we can step back and realize that some of the most important contributions that a leader brings is to breathe new meaning into symbols that have gotten stale.

One has to wonder about the capacity of a country in which a person who was abandoned by his father could grow into such a warm parent to his own children. If it allows somebody to grow beyond their immediate reality and achieve this level of personal growth, then what could the country achieve if we grew together?

President Obama has many outstanding qualities but it is his ability to learn from the abstract and incarnate it into real life that stands out to me.

Ironic that the best Dad to ever live in the White House is this skinny kid with big ears, a funny name, and who was without a father figure in his early years.

Stanley Ann Durham Obama, you must have been one hell of a dad in addition to being a great mother.
