143. it's world class compared to Australia
in a city of 3 million we have a shiteous privatised rail system (and worse it's run by Connex who are busy making Israeli only railways in the occupied territories) in peak times a train comes every 20 minutes (usually less often because of cancellations) and it takes nearly an hour to travel a distance of 8 kms.

In the last few months, the operators have used heat, cold, rain, ash on the tracks and a host of other reasons for not being able to run a service half as well as when it was in govt hands.

Most people have given up and decided to drive instead despite gas prices 3 times higher than in the US because they can't put their jobs at risk by constantly being late for work.

All this under State and Federal "Labour" govts.
