McC had one strength going for him -- his perceived advantage in the area of foreign policy.

Palin's selection obliterated this trump card, and belied the entire premise that the Republican ticket was stronger on national defense and had years of experience that made it ready to lead on Day 1. That argument died the day she was picked and even they hardly had the gall to bring it up again.

Sarah appeals to only a very narrow sector and that's it. Her base will continue to adore her no matter what she does and that will not ever change. To them she is the best thing since Jesus.

But no one else is buying her b.s. Moderate Republicans, Independents, and so-called Reagan Democrats ran -- not walked -- away from McC/Palin. Those voters could have stomached McC, but Sarah Palin totally freaked them out.
