I come from the North, but I can tell you that my Atlanta suburban neighborhood is more diverse racially than any comparable neighborhood in Conn. We have a lot of assimilation and mutual understanding going on here, in addition to pockets of white racist hate. I think that exists in EVERY state, by the way.
