An Observation: "We have met the enemy and it is us"...

For all of the years I've been here, I've seen a lot of things, some good, some some bad and a lot of "interesting" things, but I don't think I've seen anything quite as ridiculous as the "Palin Pregnancy Test".

There is documentation in the local Alaskan papers that Palin had Trig, but it is ignored; in fact, it has been called "planted", "changed by Palin's friends" and simply, "the story is a cover". What has been made up is this entire fiasco, and many here on DU fell for it hook, line and sinker. (Think about this for a second, her daughter would have had to the gestation time of a pachyderm, for there to be any tie behind the 2006 "pregnancy pic" and the birth).

There are times when I think we are our own worst enemies...even with empirical evidence that this whole thing is absurd, some people insist on bringing it to the front time and again, (and don't blame me for this, I'm trying to bury it).

There are probably 100 things we could find to legitimately contest McCain an Palin, yet some people keep resorting to this type of low down, slimy attack that is making us look like buffoons in every sense of the word.

Palin and the investigation into "troopergate" beats this pathetic rumor by a light year, but for some incredibly absurd reason, we've become more worried about Palin's womb than she is. This is the stuff of the RW, they are interested in "exposing" lies and obfuscations about others private matters and parts, and yet somehow, we have, in some instances, become them...:wtf:

What do you all say when I ask that we bury this once and for all? After all, we have legitimate things we can beat McCain and Palin into the dirt with, why make it look like we are infants, when we are all grown , are FAR smarter than the R's...and most importantly...we are just plain better than them. Why would we ever stoop to such a low level?
