There just is not sufficient infrastructure to handle a massive evacuation within the time frame that most people would operate within once they know there is a good chance of being hit directly.

You have to understand that not only did the Bush Administration let people die in NOLA, but they have not rebuilt the levees to withstand another similar hit.

We have the makings of a mega-disaster if the storm strengthens and stays on the course it is presently travelling. We can only hope that both of those 'ifs' will not pan out.
